Kane’s (Henry Ian Cusick) fate going into The 100 Season 5 finale has been left very up in the air. Vinson (Mike Dopud) stabbed him multiple times in the stomach and then bit a huge chunk of his throat out — ironic considering what we found out about the cannibalism that went on in the bunker during the Dark Year. Abby (Paige Turco) seemed dedicated to mending his wounds when she found him, but things are still looking bleak. However, we’ve been reassured, by a very credible source, that Kane’s got a decent chance of making it through the finale!

Cusick told reporters Thursday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour that he would, in fact, be in Season 6 of The 100. “I’m in a very fortunate position, having two shows at the same time,” Cusick said while promoting his new Fox show The Passage. “I’m going to be in Season 6 of The 100. I’m also here on this panel, so I’m obviously in this show… I’m looking forward to this new adventure.”

The 100 has made a habit of killing off beloved characters, and the fact Cusick had booked a new show made us very nervous about Kane’s fate in the finale. Cusick’s words are reassuring, but you should also take them with a small grain of salt. When asked how long he could sustain his dual roles on The 100 and The Passage, Cusick said he’d have to wait and see.

“Who knows how long The 100 is going to go or how long this show is going to go? At the moment I’m just in the very fortunate position that I’m on both, and we’ll see how it goes. You’ll just have to tune in,” Cusick said.

The 100 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
