1. I Feel Bad
Sarayu Blue and Paul Adelstein, I Feel Bad
I Feel Bad has some pedigree behind it: Amy Poehler is credited as a producer, and it’s (loosely) based on the book I Feel Bad: All Day. Every Day. About Everything by Orli Auslander. Star Sarayu Blue is the key to this multi-ethnic and multi-generational family comedy about a woman with impossibly high standards for herself as a mother, wife and employee. She’s bound for stardom if the show can take off, but, like most comedies, it will have to overcome some bumps in its early episodes. There’s already been a special preview of the pilot, but the show slides into its regular time slot Thursday, Oct. 4 at 9:30/8:30c on NBC.
2. Into the Dark

Ever wish there was a horror movie about Arbor Day? We might get one thanks to the curious premise of the horror anthology series Into the Dark, which will air a new frightening film each month that’s set around the month’s most popular holiday. Things start off with October’s The Body, which sees a killer hiding in plain sight at a Halloween party. Things get scary starting Friday, Oct. 5 on Hulu, with the next installment due in November.
3. Doctor Who

This is history, folks. For the first time in Doctor Who‘s long run, the time-traveling Doctor is a woman (Jodie Whittaker)! It’s about… time! The rest of the series is also undergoing big changes as the Doctor will have a whole new slew of companions and longtime showrunner Steven Moffat steps down in favor of Chris Chibnall. Catch Whittaker’s debut on BBC America this Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1:45pm ET/10:45am PT, or watch the encore at 8/7c.
4. Happy Together
Happy Together
Damon Wayans Jr. and Amber Stevens West star in Happy Together as a low-key suburban couple who find their lives upended when a famous pop star moves in and hides out with them for some sitcom reason. Though it sounds like something you’d only see on TV, it was inspired by the true story of producer Ben Winston, who secretly housed Harry Styles in his house when Styles was all the rage. The series airs Monday nights at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
