The Bold Type has never shied away from tackling big social issues, but in Season 2 the show will tackle one of the biggest in today’s cultural conversation: gun control.
Melora Hardin tells TV Guide that of all the issues the show tackles this year, the conversation about gun control versus gun ownership was one of her favorites.
“I think it was really interesting to touch on the gun ownership situation,” Hardin says. “We’ve got all these conversations happening with the Parkland shooting and the way that the young people emerged from that in such a powerful way against a very powerful NRA lobby. I’m glad that we’re having that conversation, and I think it’s a really balanced conversation… I don’t think we want to be one-sided, I think we want to open it up for conversation.”
