5 Things to Watch Today – July 11, 2017

The Bold Type showed off Jane (Katie Stevens), Kat (Aisha Dee) and Sutton’s (Meghann Fahy) killer pipes in its most recent episode with a Mamma Mia karaoke number, and if that didn’t set off musical episode alarm bells in your mind, you might need to reexamine how you watch TV.

When a cast is as crazy talented as The Bold Type‘s is, it’s kind of hard to argue against a special episode of singing and dancing, no matter how kitschy it might be. It would be irresponsible to miss out on that kind of opportunity, right? Katie Stevens thinks so, at least.

“I’m totally on board for a musical episode,” Stevens tells TV Guide. “I think that Freeform — it would be a bad move if they didn’t utilize it because all of us sing. All of us can pretty much carry a tune… Melora [Hardin] was on Broadway, Meghann was on Broadway, Aisha has a band, Matt [Ward] can carry a tune and so can Stephen [Conrad Moore]. Every single one of us can carry a tune, I just think that we have to do it.”

How The Bold Type Created an Accessible Feminist Utopia on Freeform

Stevens also confirmed that Nikohl Boosheri and Sam Page have some vocal skills, bringing the total of singers in the main cast up to eight. It’s safe to say with so many singers on hand, the logistics of a musical episode are definitely manageable.

Make it happen, Freeform!

The Bold Type airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Freeform.
