The Dynas Of Born-Free 10

It took just one stroll around the grounds of Silverado, California’s Oak Canyon Ranch to realize it’d be premature to play a funeral dirge for Dynas. Based on what we saw at Born-Free 10, the Harley-Davidson performance cruiser continues to thrive in the Southern Californian motorcycle scene as Wide Glides, Street and Fat Bobs, and Low Riders rolled in from around the country to attend the show. Crazy to think that a year after launching the smokin’ hot 2017 Dyna Low Rider S they’d pull the plug on the line altogether. But even though The Motor Company doesn’t crank them out of the factory anymore, the Dyna continues to be a sought-after commodity, especially with those who like to push their Harley to the limits, be it doing the one-wheeled tango or strafing apexes on Mulholland.

After a wild 26-year run, the Dyna is showing no signs of exiting the scene. These bikes keep evolving and changing, from the early days of pro-street to the modern club-style versions running race-quality suspension and braking components. The challenge now is building one up to run and ride the way you want without it looking like every other panel-painted, 15-inch rear-shocked, T-barred and faired Dyna on the block. Luckily for everyone involved, there was no shortage of diversity among the Dynas here at Born-Free 10!
