Earlier this year, Netflix’s adaptation of Jenny Han’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before somehow managed to fill the dark hole in our souls created by the dumpster fire that has been 2018, which is naturally why we’re all so eager to hear about a potential sequel in the works.

While the movie’s stars, Lana Condor and Noah Centineo, have both affirmed they’d be on board to do said sequel, Netflix has kind of been dragging its heels in announcing whether or not a second movie is a go. Now, according to Condor, the window to film a new installment might be closing fast.

“I think there’s a very high chance we’ll get a sequel,” Condor recently told Entertainment Tonight. “But they better hop on it pretty soon because Noah and I — I’m on the show [Deadly Class]. I’m doing a movie in Romania. He’s doing Charlie’s Angels. He’s doing another movie that he just booked. It comes down to availability, and I hope they lock us in soon.”

Believe it or not, Hollywood runs on logistics, and mismanaged scheduling can often kill a project in the cradle if you’re not careful. Considering Centineo is in such high demand and Condor has a similarly packed schedule of projects coming up, coordinating time for both of them to film together could be next to impossible. Like Condor says, if they’re not locked in soon, it could be months or even a year before logistics allow them to film P.S. I Still Love You (the title of the second book in the series and the likely title of the movie sequel).

If that’s the case, we might be waiting a very long time for this sequel to drop on Netflix.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is currently streaming on Netflix.
