Chicago Fire Cast Reacts to Monica Raymund Leaving

Are you sitting down, Marshmallows? Because I’ve got some mind-blowing news to brighten your day: A Veronica Mars revival is on the way! Yes, it’s really happening!

Kristen Bell confirmed the big news Thursday in an Instagram video and now the world suddenly makes sense again. “We’re making another one!” she revealed.

Hulu is reviving the series for a limited eight-episode run slated to debut in 2019. The hour-long episodes find Veronica investigating the murders of spring breakers in Neptune which cuts into the seaside town’s tourist industry. She finds herself drawn into a mystery in which the wealthy elites are hell-bent on ending an uprising from the working class who rely on the cash influx from hard-partying tourists. Creator Rob Thomas will write the first episode and Bell will executive-produce.

If you haven’t already seen the series (how dare you!) or are in need of a refresher beforehand, don’t worry! Every episode of the original series, plus the 2014 film, will be available to stream on Hulu beginning in summer 2019. Mark those calendars, more Veronica Mars is on the horizon!

Veronica Mars Should Be the End of the Revival Trend

The series debuted in 2004 on UPN before moving to The CW for its third and final season in 2006. The show’s abrupt cancelation left fans hanging after Veronica’s father (Enrico Colantoni) lost his bid for sheriff and Veronica was last seen sulking in the rain. The unsavory ending sparked a Kickstarter campaign led by Bell and Thomas in 2013, which then led to the Veronic Mars movie. The 2014 film gave Veronica a better sendoff by reuniting her with her true love Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring) as she worked on solving a murder. She’s a master sleuth, after all!

Following the film’s release, the cast continued to support the idea of a reboot, even going as far as to troll fans with a promo for Ryan Hansen‘s YouTube series, Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television, made to look like another campaign to bring the beloved show back. Well, the joke’s on them because now the show really is coming back!

Raise your hand if your day has officially been made.
