The first official promo for Fox’snew Beverly Hills, 90210 series has arrived and it’s full of nostalgia!
OK, so it actually doesn’t give us any real footage of the series, which is debuting Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 9/8c. It’s mostly a montage set to Lenny Kravitz’s “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over,” but it does have some great shots of the cast from the first table read. Of course, the new series is a parody in which the stars of the iconic teen drama will play heightened versions of themselves, so honestly maybe this little table read could very well make it into the show.
Shannen Doherty, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling have all returned to give life to this meta version of BH90210. They’ll all be playing themselves 19 years after the teen soap that launched their careers ended. In this heightened version of reality, when one of them suggests they join the reboot/revival frenzy and get the gang back together for a revival of 90210, naturally the whole cast is eager to sign on. You can definitely expect some good laughs and a lot of wistful sentimentality from this… parody revival. Yeah, that’s what we’re calling it.
