GLOW Season 2: Watch the Trailer

SMILF doesn’t return until January but our new look at the sophomore season has us excited to see what the Frankie Shaw comedy has in store. TV Guide has an exclusive preview of Season 2, and we can already tell it’s going bigger and better in the new episodes.

The video kicks off with Bridgette (Shaw) wandering through the woods and then riding a big black horse. Her simple white dress and the cinematography give us some serious Outlander pilot flashbacks — and that’s not a bad thing! It turns out that fantasy sequences are going to be a big part of the second season and will include a Westworldtype showdown and Bridgette feeling herself as a queen.

Season 2 will revolve around Bridgette’s search for answers, according to Shaw. The “ILF” at the end of the title is being reworked to mean “is losing faith,” so Bridgette will stumble through the second season trying to find a higher power, or at least an ordering force to the universe. From the short teases we could see, it’s going to be an exhausting journey for her but one that is still full of the grounded, heartbreaking humor we grew to love in the first season. Check out what you’re in for in our exclusive preview.

SMILF Season 2 premieres Sunday, Jan. 20 at 10:30/9:30c on Showtime.

(Full disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS, Showtime’s parent company.)
